Regulations
- General
- This championship is organised under the regulation issued by “F.I.S.L.Y.” (ISRR and Appendixes) and the special rules issued by the organizing committee and authorities.
- The programme for the championships will have all the times stated for both practice and competition, please read it. Any sailing outside these times is strictly prohibited. This includes taking a landyacht onto the beach.
- Competitors will act in such a way as not to ever endanger others.
- Competitors will adhere to following all instructions by the organising committee, the race direction and the authorities.
- Competitors will obtain permission from the Race Director before accessing the beach with landyachts
- Competitors are aware of their obligation to restore all damages caused by themselves (be they voluntary, by carelessness, or through their behaviour) to the material of the organising committee.
- Maintain control of the landyacht at all times and sail responsibly. Any form of racing or unauthorised competitions should be strictly prohibited unless in the allotted race times.
- Competitors shall respect designated areas, landyachts should only be operated in designated areas specifically designated for their use. Follow any signage or instructions provided by the beach marshal team regarding the boundaries and permitted zones for landyachts.
- Competitors shall yield to pedestrians, respect the right of way of pedestrians and other beach visitors. Landyachts should yield to individuals walking, dog walking, or engaging in any other beach activities. Maintain a safe distance from people or animals to prevent disturbances or accidents.
- Remember, these rules are meant to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all beach visitors. Always be courteous and respectful to others while enjoying the landyacht experience.
- Statement. The invalidity or un-enforceability of any provisions of this agreement shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision of this Agreement, which shall remain in full force and effect.
- Voting race start for women and men
If 12 or more women have registered, there will be a vote before the ‚General briefing‘ to determine whether all participants agree to the women and men starting together. If they don’t, the races will be reduced. In this case, the women and men will race completely separately. - Event briefing
It is obligatory for all participating pilots to attend the general briefing on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at the YCSPO clubhouse. - Daily briefing
A pilots’ briefing for all classes can be held in the paddock or at the technical zone in front of the dunes, if necessary, at the start of each racing day to define the circuit A or B, start lines, start order etc… Specific or last minute information on the event will be announced at this time, too. Pilots and yachts are expected to be in the technical zone and ready to sail 30 minutes BEFORE the announced time of (race) briefing. The schedule for the first day will be announced at the daily briefing of the first day. In principal, the starting procedures will be announced at the price giving the day before and be posted on the official notice board. - Race Briefing
Before the start of each race, the race director will hold a race specific briefing on the race track. Language of these race briefings will be English and German. This briefing is mandatory. Race times are approximate and will depend on weather and tides. - Start
The pilots themselves are responsible for a correct start. - Sailing during races
Without permission of the race director, it is absolutely forbidden to sail while another race is in progress. Pilots who ignore this rule will be sanctioned. - Technical check
The Jury may perform a technical check and sail measurement at any given time. - Securing the yachts
When not sailing, pilots are obliged to secure their yachts to prevent them from moving on their own, or causing any damage to people or other yachts. This may be sanctioned and pilots will be held responsible for all damages caused by their yacht. - Lap Scoring
- The counting of the races will be done digitally by the electronic score system Race Result. Each participant will receive two transponders from the executing association. The transponders have to be returned after the last race.
- Each competitor must ensure that the transponders are properly attached to the yacht during the races.
- Yachts without transponders will not be scored.
- The finish line will be a gate marked by two orange flags.
- The gate must be crossed in each round of the race.
- It is forbidden to cross the finish line outside the regatta.
- It is forbidden to use the brake or the feet to break immediately on the finish line.
- Rigging and De-rigging of yachts
Yachts must be only be rigged and de rigged on the beach, in the paddock and/or technical zone. - Accidents
Pilots (and others) who are involved in an accident, must stand upright ASAP in order to signal that they are not hurt badly. - Sail numbers
Each pilot must use the same sail number during the championship. This is the same number that was applied during the registration. Pilots who use a different sail number will not be scored. Pilots who use an unclear or hard to read sail number will not be scored either. (see ISRR) - Sponsoring
All pilots are asked to put the sponsor and event stickers provided by the organisation on their yacht as defined by the sailing instructions - Race circuit
There are two race circuits: The race director will set the course A or B according to conditions on the day this will be explained at the daily briefing. Numbers of pilots can also be regulated if it is deemed necessary due to wind / beach or regulatory conditions imposed on the organisers. - Pilots and Registration
- Each pilot must have a current FISLY ID 2025 at the time of the championships and in possession of a national license.
- By signing this document, the pilot declares that he/she is medically fit for the practice of sandyachting in an amateur competition and in particular for an international championship.
- Each pilot must complete the registration form on the website and pay the associated costs by the 29th August 2025.
- This registration must be confirmed by a member of FISLY.
- Daily prize giving
There will be a daily prize giving location and timing to be defined. - Exclusion of responsibility
- The organiser is Yacht Club St. Peter Ording/ FISLY. The organising committee, the race direction, the organising clubs and federation do not accept any responsibility over possible accidents, incidents or losses, be it personal or equipment-wise which occurred before, during or after the European championship. This also applies to parking places, the clubhouse and all permanent or non-permanent accommodation (on site or off side areas).
- All safety prescriptions must be observed and respected.
- I declare to release from all liability, without exception or reservation, the organizers of the „Mini European Championships St. Peter Ording 2025“ and anyone working for the organization, in the event of any accident or damages. This applies throughout the duration of these championships from October 27, 2025 to November 01, 2025.
- I consent to assume all known and unknown risks and all consequences relatet to my participation in the MY EC SPO 2025.
- I expressly authorize the event organizers to provide, if necessary, any medical or surgical care that may be necessary for my health on behalf of a designated trusted third party.
- I am aware that I must compensate to organizers of the MY EC SPO 2025 if I intentionally or negligently violate these rules and the organizers are held liable by third parties for any damage caused by me to them.
- All safety prescriptions must be observed and respected.
- Notes
- These are the General conditions of participation. Each pilot agrees to these conditions by registering.
- The “Special Rules” for this championship have been approved by the FISLY Council.
- Special Rules
- Any changes to the program (ISRR 4.14) will be announced on the official notice board at the paddock of the YCSPO, in addition, during the daily prize-giving ceremony with 12 hours‘ notice. Changes at short notice will be announced during the briefings.
- In deviation from 3.18 of the ISSR rules, a starting square will be used. This is marked by four pylons. Within the last 10 seconds before the start, it is forbidden to perform any sailing maneuvers (change of course, braking, etc.) in the starting square. It is also forbidden to enter the starting square from the side.
